The time has come once again to celebrate the Little Ladies’ Day
festival - a time for women of all races to be treated as the princesses
they were meant to be! Doubly so for the Higuri Regalia, whose ruling
clan has adopted a noble (and, to some, adorable) tradition based on the
Tale of the Lost Lady, Edvya Thorne.
To those unaware: the Tale of the Lost Lady culminated with Baldric Thorne - Ul’dah’s Sultan of eld - serving as a commoner’s seneschal for a full day’s time due to the mistreatment of said commoner under allegations of kidnapping his beloved daughter, Edvya. From Baldric’s own lips did he state that “no young woman, regardless of her standing, should be denied
the respect due all citizens of the sultanate; that all girls, common
or noble, are ‘ladies’ in their own right.”
This tale was held in the highest of regards within Thiij’s family. So much, in fact, that they had adopted a new tradition where the males of the family would serve as loyal retainers to their significant others. If they did not possess one, they had full liberty to serve as seneschal to any woman in whom they were interested, regardless of whether or not the receiving party was aware of their aforementioned interest.
Hence, after several long winters spent bringing his empire to prosperity, Lord Thiji has made the decision to uphold his family tradition once more - by serving as the seneschal to the ladies of Eorzea during the Little Ladies’ festival.
What does this entail for the community, you may ask? To the women of Eorzea and beyond, this means that, on select points in time during Little Ladies’ Day, the Mythrite Suites, located in the 60th plot in Shirogane’s 16th Ward, will be open. Males are encouraged to attend and mingle, but special treatment will be provided for the women through precious items.
Lord Thiji will make his post on an ornate stage, where he will address the women as “Princesses,” and inquire as to how he may bring happiness to them in the form of a given item within their stock. These items include, but are not limited to:
Minions
Corsages
Clothing
Weapons (Crafted upon request)
This event, which will be known as the “Princesses’ Gathering”, shall occur on the 6th and 7th Suns of the 2nd Astral Moon (6 & 7 March, respectively), as well as the 13th and 14th Suns of the 2nd Astral Moon (13 & 14 March, respectively), providing four chances to enjoy the Little Ladies’ Day festivities and the Regalia’s own unique hospitality (Times are: 7PM - 10PM EST).

disclaimer: i learned fut san style at an american university, and the senior members of the troupe were almost all from hong kong and taiwan, so most of my knowledge is drawn from what they taught me. lion dance varies widely depending on the style and the country of origin, and many schools do things differently! this is just an attempt to establish a baseline and give you a really basic intro to one of my favorite art forms. :)
